Crews hope beet juice, brine will help clear snowy sections of I-70

The sun was shining bright this morning across central Ohio, but workers and engineers at the Ohio Department of Transportation District 5 Garage in Jacksontown were focused on something else: snow. Testing de-icing liquid mixtures including calcium, brine and a beet juice combination, crews will target their efforts on I-70 in Licking, Muskingum and Guernsey counties.
