A worker died from injuries after getting struck by a suspected impaired driver in a construction zone on Interstate 70 early Saturday morning, according to Columbus police. The 2009 Honda Odyssey operated by 30-year-old Edward A. Torres, of South Charleston, entered eastbound lanes at Hilliard-Rome Road before moving into the construction zone where three right lanes were closed to traffic at 1:35 a.m. He passed a marked deputy sheriff's cruiser that had emergency lights activated.
