Congress passes bill to fight EPA water rule

WASHINGTON — The U.S. House passed legislation that would prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from implementing a federal water rule that farmers and industry groups have lambasted as a federal power grab. By a 235-166 vote on Wednesday — with all Ohio Republicans supporting the bill and all Ohio Democrats opposing it — the House voted to kill what is commonly called the “waters of the United States” rule. It passed the Senate 53-44 in November.
