Commissioners approve new computer system for Franklin County jail

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies soon will be able to track in one computer system an inmate’s mental health history, how much money is in his commissary account and what property he or she brought into the jail. Franklin County Commissioners approved a $1.8 million contract on Tuesday with Poland, Ohio-based Intellitech Corp. to provide a new jail management system. The five-year contract will cover the software and maintenance over the next five years.
