Commission lets states decide Ohio River mercury tests

States along the Ohio River will decide how and where companies test to determine how much mercury they release into the waterway, according to a decision by the multistate commission overseeing the river’s health. Thursday’s decision means there will be no single, comprehensive plan for testing how much mercury polluters release into the river.
