Columbus Zoo employee injured by bison

An employee at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium was injured Thursday morning after an incident with a bison.According to a spokesperson, an experienced keeper was struck by an American bison while preparing for a veterinary procedure.Other zoo team members immediately contacted Liberty Township Fire Department.The spokesperson said the keeper remained awake and responsive and was transported to a local hospital.Per the zoo’s protocol, the incident will be evaluated.
