Columbus Schools investigating possible breach of payroll system

Columbus City Schools is investigating whether hackers tried to steal the paychecks of dozens of district employees who reported last week that their paycheck direct-deposits were switched to a different bank without their knowledge. The district is still gathering details about the situation, including how much money and how many employees were involved, spokesman Scott Varner said Monday.
