Columbus provides good backdrop for 'Hayes' crime series

Andrew Welsh-Huggins has been a reporter for the Associated Press in Columbus for 20 years, covering crime and punishment and other legal matters. Every morning, though, he rises before the sun and spends two hours with his fictional alter ego, before leaving for his day job.
