Columbus police talk man from jumping off bridge

Columbus police were able to save a man’s life after he threatened to jump into the Scioto River this past weekend.Helicopter pilot officers saw the man on the south side of West Broad Street outside of the railing Saturday night around 7 p.m.Patrol officers responded and spoke with the 53-year-old man who said he was homeless and upset.Officers were able to call his daughter and told him that she loves him. Police said the man was hesitant to move to safety to get on the phone with her.Af
