Columbus police: Murder suspect beat man over the head with large object

Columbus police have charged a man with murder after he allegedly beat another man to death with a large object.Police say 51-year-old Joseph L. Williams assaulted 55-year-old William Taylor Sunday morning in front of a residence on Rodgers Avenue.Williams repeatedly struck Taylor about the head and body with a large metal or wooden object, possibly a pole or board. He was arrested immediately at the scene.Taylor was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition with a severe head injury.
