Columbus man gets life sentence in girlfriend's murder

Gervonta Thompson, 24, was charged with the murder of Takasha N. Byers, 31, who was killed in the Lockhurst Village Apartments in 2016. Judge Charles Schneider sentenced him to the minimum sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole after 15 years.
