Columbus Library doesn't miss forgone late fines

Columbus Metropolitan Library sacrificed more than $250,000 in revenue last year by ending its long-standing policy of fining its customers for overdue books and other materials. But officials with the 23-branch library system say the expense is worth it if removing the punitive barriers encourages more people to read.
