Columbus City Schools blames state for funding shortfall

The Columbus City School Board says it plans to lose $110 million it projected to receive from the state.Because of that, the district says it will likely cut 163 full-time employees. The district says many of those cuts will likely come from attrition.The cuts come after voters approved a 2016 school levy in November that promised the hiring of 325 employees. The district says it will continue to hire those employees for specific jobs.Columbus City Schools says the cuts in state funding will fo
