Although racial tensions are high today, some local religious leaders realized they were rising a few years ago. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Columbus has been working on a program to improve race relations and understanding among its parishioners since 2015, when a letter from Bishop Edward Braxton from Belleville, Illinois, inspired officials to work to make things better.
