Columbia Gas customers seeing higher winter bills

Heating costs are way up this month for Columbia Gas of Ohio customers, compared with last year’s relatively low costs that came courtesy of unusually mild temperatures. The Columbus-based utility’s standard rate for January is 53.6 cents per 100 cubic feet of gas, which is up 46 percent from a year ago.
