Coleman’s 16-year legacy as Columbus mayor

Mayor Michael B. Coleman had barely stepped down from the stage inside a packed ballroom at the Westin Great Southern Hotel before hordes rushed at him as if he were a pop star. It was election night in November and, for Coleman, it was the last time in his record-breaking four terms that he would be on this big of a stage as mayor. While his successor, Mayor-elect Andrew J. Ginther, spoke to reporters, Coleman posed for pictures, signed autographs and gave high-fives.
