City trains more emergency drivers, aims for efficient routes

Columbus is training more snowplow drivers, using technology to make their routes more efficient and resetting priorities so that plows are more likely to hit neighborhood streets after a snowstorm, Mayor Andrew J. Ginther said on Friday. After the training, about 300 city employees from various divisions and departments will know how to drive a plow, up from about 165, Ginther said at a news conference at the city’s Traffic Management Center on 25th Avenue.
