City to treat toxic algae at two parks
In case there was any question: Keep your pets out of the ponds at Schiller and Krumm parks. The type of algae that produces a liver and nerve toxin has formed in both ponds, according to the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. Tests taken Sept. 2 at Schiller Park and Sept. 18 at Schiller and Krumm parks showed levels of the toxin microcystin, which can sicken people and kill pets.
