City council approves Crew SC stadium development

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus city council members passed an ordinance Monday night that gives the green light to the development of the MAPFRE Stadium site and a new stadium location for the Columbus Crew SC.The plan was introduced in December and Monday’s passage allows the city and the county to work together on the stadium.The ordinance said the Crew SC Stadium Company, LLC will contribute at least $140 million toward the project costs.$140 million will also be needed from the public
