Church marks organist’s 50th year playing music

For 50 years, Mary McMullen has given the melody to the Groveport Zion Lutheran Church services. As parishioners prepare to celebrate her half a century with the church, the Rev. Matthew Cox said he finds her dedication remarkable. “I don’t know any other place that I’ve served — and I’ve served in Montana and Florida and here — where I ran across anybody that had that kind of longevity and love for their congregation,” Cox, 61, said.
