Chewbecca actor Peter Mayhew from ‘Star Wars’ dies at 74

Peter Mayhew, an actor best known for playing Chewbacca in the Star Wars films, has passed away according to a family statement posted to his Twitter account.The statement said Mayhew died on April 30 in his Texas home with family by his side.Mayhew “put his heart and soul” into the role of Chewbacca the statement said.He also started the Peter Mayhew Foundation which helped support people in crisis situations.Mayhew is survived by his wife Angie and three children.A memorial service
