Central Ohio jobless rate at 14-year-low

Central Ohio’s unemployment rate tumbled to a 14-year low in August, according to state employment figures released this morning that showed the unemployment rate falling in all 88 Ohio counties last month. The unemployment rate of 3.6 percent in August was down from 4.2 percent in July. The last time the rate was this low was in July 2001 when the rate was 3.4 percent. The unemployment rate typically falls in August as students leave the labor force to return to school.
