CCAD lets freshmen delve into art sooner

These days, the typical art-school freshman arrives with a passion to make a certain kind of art — painting or digital animation or interior design — while the traditional art-school curriculum requires freshmen to spend a year or more studying art history, color theory and the basics of drawing, regardless of their majors.
