Could the fall of House Speaker John Boehner be the latest example of “be careful what you wish for”? It was Boehner who bragged about his prowess in influencing congressional districts redrawn in 2010 by legislatures across the country. Many states wound up with a map like the one drawn for Ohio — a state that traditionally leans slightly Republican — which wound up helping the GOP to win and keep 12 of 16 seats.
