Capital projects to boost Licking County budget

NEWARK, Ohio — Licking County commissioners adopted a $60.4 million general fund budget for 2016 this morning, increasing capital improvement spending for next year to help pay for projects such as the renovation of the Licking County courthouse. The 2016 interim budget, which allows for changes to be made in the first quarter of the year before the spending plan is final, is a nearly 8 percent increase from 2015’s $56 million budget.
