Cab driver pleads guilty to assaulting passenger

A refugee of Somalia who was accused of raping a woman in his taxi cab pleaded guilty today to a reduced charge after the victim failed to cooperate with the prosecution. Mahad EyBakar, 40, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault and was sentenced to 11 months in prison by a Franklin County judge who ordered him released because he has served that much time in jail since his arrest.
