Bob Evans’ earnings boosted by prepared foods, offsetting slow restaurant sales

Once again, Bob Evans Farms prepared foods division saved the company’s bacon. In spite of sales at the New Albany-based company’s restaurants slipping more than 4 percent year-over-year, the company posted better than expected earnings per share.
