Blind students learn about buses, trucks, hot-air balloons on Transportation Day
Many of the students from the Ohio State School for the Blind have never been on a city bus. Nevertheless, when given the opportunity to board a Central Ohio Transit Authority bus and learn to swipe a bus pass, a group of them did the instinctive teenager thing: They made a bee-line for the very back. “The more independence they can have, that’s my biggest thing,” said Virginia Giglio-Stump, a travel trainer for COTA.
