Bison sculpture harkens back to Franklinton's past, efforts at beautification
In gritty, historic, always-colorful Franklinton, it isn’t easy to turn heads. But the sight of a life-size, trash-stuffed bison being hoisted atop a 10-foot pole did the trick. Plenty of motorists and pedestrians slowed and squinted skyward. “Just think of all the people who are going to drive past here and say, ‘What the heck is that?’” said Sandy Andromeda, who, with his frontier garb and fake buffalo hat drew a few stares himself.
