Bexley sixth-graders to be moved to middle school

The Bexley Board of Education approved a plan on Monday night to move sixth-graders from all three elementary schools to Bexley Middle School, starting with the 2017-18 school year. The vote was 4-1, with board member Mike Denison as the lone dissenter. He had voiced his opposition in previous meetings. The five members took their vote after impassioned speeches from eight audience members and in front of a room packed with parents, many of whom opposed the plan and the tone of the debate.
