Battelle will lay off 260 employees in Columbus

Battelle will lay off 260 employees in central Ohio and another 90 at sites around the country as part of an effort to reduce costs. Von Thaer, who was named president and CEO of Battelle last July, told employees that by reducing overhead and having a smaller workforce, the private, nonprofit research organization would transform Battelle into a "leaner and more market-facing organization."
