Authorities identify man found dead in Newark house fire

NEWARK, Ohio -- Authorities have identified a Newark man who was found dead after a house fire on Channel Street in Newark.The Licking County Coroner identified the man as 50-year-old Douglas B. Baumgartner. His body was found inside a home that caught fire around 3 a.m. August 30.Newark Fire arrived to find a house fully engulfed in flames at 176 East Channel Street.The intense flames forced crews to immediately go into defensive mode to battle the fire, according to Newark Fire Chief Patrick C
