Authorities ID missing Hoover Reservoir boater

The boater who struggled Saturday night in cold water to dislodge his boat from a sandbar was found this morning after several hours of searching, including all day Sunday. Genoa Township Police identified the man as Thomas Mixter, 54, of Columbus. He was with a friend Saturday in a small Sunbird sailboat that was blown north toward the Sunbury Road Bridge at about 5 p.m. A small motor had stopped working, setting them adrift and eventually the boat got stuck on the shoal.
