Author: Communities finally rallying against drug scourge

The over-prescribing of highly addictive pain pills, savvy drug dealers from Mexico and the availability of cheap, easy-to-get heroin have all led to the current opiate crisis in the United States. But journalist and author Sam Quinones argues that there is something else that has helped push the problem to epidemic proportions: isolation, the destruction of community and the fragmentation of society.
