Attorneys for Ohioan accused of terror plot question whether he is competent for trial

CINCINNATI — Attorneys for an Ohio man accused of plotting to attack the U.S. Capitol in support of the Islamic State group are questioning his mental competence. Court documents obtained today by the Associated Press show defense attorneys have asked a federal judge for a hearing to determine whether Christopher Lee Cornell is competent to stand trial. Cornell faces charges alleging he planned to attack the Capitol with pipe bombs and to shoot government officials and employees.
