Alan Miller: Rushing to judgment is irresponsible, dangerous

In hindsight and after much investigation, it is clear that an outcry on social media over accusations of a hate crime in Columbus last weekend were fueled by a rush to judgment based more on emotion than fact. The same emotion also helped fuel an online donation account containing more than $110,000 to help a woman who was punched in the nose.
