Alan Miller: Fair coverage builds trust with sources and readers

Nearing what appeared to be the end of a long day, one in which Siegel already had written two stories about the work of state lawmakers, he received notice that the speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives wanted to talk with him. This came just ahead of the House Republican Caucus meeting that evening and after we and others had written that Speaker Cliff Rosenberger had hired a lawyer because he heard that the FBI was asking questions about him.
