After primary loss, Treasurer Ed Leonard lands as elections director

The Franklin County Board of Elections has hired county Treasurer Ed Leonard as its new director. Leonard, who lost his re-election bid in the March primary, will start his new job Sept. 19. He will be paid about $123,000 per year. Leonard replaces William A. Anthony Jr., who resigned Aug. 15. Anthony was indicted in July for theft in office and tampering with documents.
