AEP reports drop in third-quarter sales due to mild summer weather

The Columbus-based utility said its sales totaled $4.1 billion, down from $4.7 billion in the prior-year quarter. Third-quarter net income was $544.7 million, up from a loss of $765.8 million a year earlier.
