AEP reaches agreement to sell four power plants

American Electric Power has signed an agreement to sell four power plants, three of which are in Ohio, to a joint venture of private-equity firms. Columbus-based AEP announced the $2.17 billion deal this morning. The buyers are Blackstone and Arclight Capital Partners.
