Activists ask commissioners to review actions in shelter's distemper outbreak
Animal activists want Franklin County commissioners to review how the distemper outbreak happened at the dog shelter — where 99 dogs were euthanized — and how it can be prevented in the future. Commissioner John O’Grady welcomed that request, saying feels the pain of animal owners. "I have a shelter dog," O'Grady said, stressing that euthanasia always should be the last option for distressed animals.
