A Columbus Italian eatery closes its doors

Dozens of people lined up outside of The Florentine on W. Broad Street Friday morning for what would be the restaurant’s last day in business.
“I was 3 years old,” said Doug McAffee of his first visit to the Italian restaurant.
The eatery has been open 71 years.
“Our first date was here,” McAffee said as he looked at his wife Rosie.
The couple made sure to travel from Athens, Ohio for their final meal of homemade Italian cuisine.
