51-year-old man dies from injuries after east side shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus police said a 51-year-old man died after being shot last Friday in the area of South Hamilton Road and Melroy Avenue.Police say officers responded to the shooting just after 8 p.m. Friday. Dwaynel Howard, 51, was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries Saturday evening.Police do not have a motive right now, and no suspect is in custody.This is the 109th homicide this year in Columbus.
