1 of 6 dropouts in Ohio are from ECOT

Officials at ECOT, Ohio’s giant online charter school, frequently boast that they graduate more students than any other public school in the nation. The tax-funded Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow handed diplomas to 2,374 students this past spring, according to data kept by the Ohio Department of Education. But what ECOT officials don’t mention is they have far more students failing to graduate in four years and they lead the state in high school dropouts.
