1 dead after pedestrian struck by car in south Columbus

COLUMBUS-- One man is dead after being stuck by a car in south Columbus, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.It happened Saturday at approximately 9:04 p.m. on Brown Road north of Engadine Avenue.A man was driving northbound when Matthew Loel, 34, appeared to be intoxicated and walking southbound in the middle of the northbound lanes, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.Loel was struck head on by the car and was pronounced dead by Franklin Township medics at 9:11 p.m.
