'The Baby Thief' by Lakewood author Barbara Raymond is on the way to becoming a movie

In May 2016, Barbara Raymond, a nonfiction writer and John Carroll University adjunct professor who lives in Lakewood, received a surprising email from Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer stating that Spencer was interested in making a movie out of Raymond's book, "The Baby Thief." Spencer will join Raymond at a book signing on Sunday, Aug. 13, at The Root Cafe in Lakewood.
