Man sentenced to prison for hit-and-run crash that killed Lorain senior
Damion Cheers, 27, was sentenced Thursday by Lorain County Common Pleas Court Judge Christopher Cook. Cheers pleaded guilty Nov. 2 to vehicular homicide, failure to stop after an accident and driving under suspension in the Oct. 19, 2015 crash that killed Jayvian Johnson. Prosecutors dismissed a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide in exchange for his guilty plea, court officials said.
