Lawmakers continue to debate bill delaying Ohio green energy, efficiency rules

The Ohio Senate ignored Gov. Kasich's veto threat and approved a bill Thursday delaying a return to mandates requiring power companies to sell an annually increasing percentage of green energy and to develop efficiency programs customers can use to cut power usage. The mandates have been frozen at 2014 levels for two years. Today's legislation, in effect, extends the delay for two more years by making compliance voluntary.
