High winds take a toll on Rocky River Reservation eagle, owl nests

Winds in excess of 50 mph felled a dead cottonwood containing a nest where a pair of bald eagles were incubating eggs, and also may have blown a great horned owl chick out of a nest on the Valley Parkway near the Cottonwood Picnic Area.
