Bishop Nelson J. Perez celebrates first Mass in Cleveland

The announcement Tuesday morning that Bishop Nelson J. Perez was chosen to take over from Bishop Richard Lennon, who announced his retirement in December after his diagnosis with vascular dementia, sparked a lot of excitement for Cleveland Catholic community. Perez is also Cleveland's first Hispanic bishop.
